Yes, I think the problem is too many people in lands where there were none before and the animals are being squeezed. All in the name of progress.
We have the same problem here with eastern coyotes. These are not the wimpy ones like out west as these are well fed. The problem here is that they were introduced back in the area, and now are a menace since the numbers are so great and they have more mouths to feed. I saw one out my office window about 2 weeks ago at 8:30 in the morning. Stories of 5-6 of them trapping someone before someone else shows up to fire a gun to disperse them. My daughter would walk through a cemetery near her place in Chicago during the pandemic and once saw three of them in there, so she got out quickly. The coyotes eat domestic animals like cats, small dogs, chickens, ducks, and so forth. There is a pack of them near my one neighbor and we hear them howling. I saw the guy yesterday and he pointed to where they live. He says he has shot 2 of them in the last month. He has a little 4-year old girl. He said one got one of his ducks(he has a pond). I tell fans going to NG country to pack some bear repellant or something just in case. Not likely to happen, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.
