Reminds of a real estate agent friend of mine who was looking to sell some old base housing at an airport that had closed. The field was silent, but a commercial company was coming in to use it for aviation very soon.
She told potential buyers this, as fair warning as there'd be jet noise soon.
Every person she told this to, they dismissed it, and most said they would just force the courts to make them stop. She'd shrug and say, "Okay, I warned you," and it'd be on whatever agreements that were signed that the news was disclosed ahead of time.
Later, the planes came, the new residents all demanded it stop, and the courts weren't having it. A couple of residents looked to sue her but her lawyer was ready for it and pointed out the signed disclosures. All the suits stopped right there.
