I don’t normally agree with Durango residents griping about the train but I think they have a valid issue here and from how the article is written, they don’t sound unreasonable. Rockwood really isn’t meant to have this many cars, people, or traffic. I can only imagine how bad the traffic is on 550 at the turn to Rockwood before the train departures. It’s just a matter of time before a serious accident occurs. Hopefully the D&S and the residents can come to an agreement that suits both parties. It really is to everyones benefit that the D&S work with the community and maintain a favorable view from residents. The railroad doesn’t need any more enemies.
John does raise an interesting perspective that I didn’t think about.
