There is a certain irony here. I remember Rockwood when it was a beautiful little valley with a railroad siding and a few houses. Then the gentrification started with a whole bunch of fancy homes intruding into the scene. How that those nice folks have rearranged things to their liking, they are objecting to the logical next step, the expanding of railroad operations as Durango gets farther and farther from the wilderness and Rockwood becomes more and more a part of the Durango urban complex. But I'm just an old fart.
