IMHO, the residents in Rockwood have a legitimate gripe -
The trains used to run right on through, with almost no auto traffic other than a few of us foamers occasionally parking alongside the right-of-way. It's a much different situation from Durango, where the depot served at least a few people daily year-round from 1881 to 1951, and many hundreds each day during tourist seasons from the late fifties on, and has enough parking nearby to accommodate them. As to the steep and narrow road being inappropriate for heavy use, IIRC Mr. West himself was stranded there by ice on the pavement a year or two ago
