Murph, the cylinders are 9X12.
Regarding the color, we found that not only through research, but actual evidence on the cylinder castings of both our trench engines that they were green with black lettering/numbering as built. As far as the shade, we did our best to match what we found along with comparing samples from some other military greens. We enhanced many details of the locomotive, it likely would’ve been pretty much all green with the exception of the frame and the lettering/numbering. In an effort to add more contrast and attention to detail, we painted various items like the hose rack, cab roof, window visors, dome base and tops, mounting brackets etc.
The Baldwin’s as built were grey with white lettering, hence what Felin Hen was painted in.
Our wheel profile has very thick flanges so it’s not impossible that we could run the locomotive over in Maine, not that we have plans to anytime soon.
