This thread has been substantially revised:
* the first Cumbres turn on January 31has been replaced with two of my B&W photos and Tom Koglin's color photos.
* the turn that had been posted as the first turn on January 31 is now shown correctly as the Chama - Alamosa run thru on February 1
* the Chama - Alamosa run thru posted for February 1 is now shown correctly as the Chama - Alamosa run thru on February 29 with a mix of my B&W photos and Tom Koglin's color photos posted
as a separate thread
* Tom Koglin's color photos of 480 and 488 at Gato on January 31 have been added to this thread
* Tom Koglin's color photos of 493 and 492 with the heavy pipe train leaving Chama on January 31 and arriving in Farmington on February 1 have been posted as a separate thread
Other sections of this thread have remained the same. These changes are the result of seeing Tom Koglin's slides recently scanned by Russo Loco, numerous phone discussions, and several hours of meticulously of working a jig saw puzzle of matching largely unlabeled scissor-separated 120 negatives to establish a correct negative sequence (I had 9 rolls of 8 exposure 120 B&W negatives that were labelled with tiny letters that in many cases were blacked out by light leaks at the edges)
I am very pleased that with Tom Koglin's beautiful slides we were able to overcome the fog of time and show the events of January 30, January 31, February 1, and February 29 of 1964 correctly.
