The 3rd Division engineer/firemen I talked with all felt the superheated 450's (as they called them) were the best NG engine. Frank Wright felt they were the best steamer the Grande had period. I've gathered performance had largely to do with the individual crews talent/ability.
319 was used extensively to haul the Gunnison/Montrose pass train until discontinued in Sept '36.
