Interesting, John. Of course the 454 earned her "round plate" pre '24 so a lot of water and disfunctional front ends can occur in that length of time.
Hadn't considered that lap seam problem and the subsequent reduction in bp. 318 seemed to be the favorite down there between she and the 340. The ol' 400 collected a lot of dust next to the enginehouse in Montrose. Soft throttle response still plagues the old gal even today.
