Much of the Navajo reservation is "off the grid." No electricity = no pumped water. No electricity = no (or little) modern communication.
The supply towns like Shiprock, Gallup, etc. and the travelers going through them can be a source of infection and a source of spread.
Shiprock and Farmington are both in New Mexico's San Juan County. And most people traveling to Durango and Chama from points further southwest are likely to travel through that region.
