The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad Commission is a non profit and can accept tax deductible donations. It is a 170c1 that is the equivalent of a 501c3 but for entities that are connected to the state. Remember that we are jointly owned by the states of Colorado and New Mexico.
We do not yet have authority to operate trains out of Chama due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place here. We have been hopeful that restrictions would be lifted by now but the recent spike in cases in both Texas and Arizona seem to make a change in mid July unlikely.
The C&TS is now operating 6 days a week Antonito to Osier and return. A great lunch is being served in Osier and the scenery is breathtakingly beautiful. We are running 16 car trains with 3 open cars to accommodate social distancing.
