To be fair, I had no clues about the dates until seeing the 1971 promotion poster, and you had simply said it was Labor Day weekend. The schedule on the poster wasn’t chronological (grouped by type instead) so I had to make them chronological to sort it all out. Another poster had said the Rocky Club excursion was on Saturday (4th) which meant the photos I have must have been taken on the 3rd & 4th, but were mislabeled as the 2nd & 3rd.
Coincidentally, the date of the Rocky Club trip happened to be the 20th anniversary of one of the last RGS trains, when 461 took 6-7 hours to pull a string of stock cars to Lizard Head, Sept 4, 1951. There are Kindig photos of this train, including a somewhat famous one taken at Brown tank.
