When finished the caboose will be painted and lettered as it was during it's service during the 1930's. This will include the circle herald and dark paint (the color we are using is "Chocolate".
We are using Allback Linseed Oil Paint. The wood is treated with Allback Linseed Oil prior to painting, and the two work as a system to help preserve the wood. [

When finished, 1006 will appear similar to this photograph of 1009 at the Colorado Railroad Museum. However, 1006 will have the herald closer to center, and will not have the "C&S" above the number as 1009 and 1003 wore in service.
