I think Paul Merriman (sp?) paid something like $6k for the 4501 back in the early 60's.

In about 2015, Midcontinent Railway auctioned off some items, including Woodward Iron Decapod #41, which had sat since the 1960's. I believe it brought between 10 and 15k. Even today, some donm't bring a lot of coin, especially if they need 7 figures to make 'em steam again!
