One of the Shays was sold to the Campbell River Timber Co. for use on their narrow gauge operation on Hernando Island. It worked there for a number of years with a small 0-4-0 (?), until it had a roll over accident in the early 1920's, it was decided that it wasn't worth the cost to recover it since the operation was basically finished at this point. Its remains still reside below the ROW on Hernando.
Info comes from BC Dept. of Railways records and Vern Wellburn (the son of Gerry Wellburn who considered recovering it for his museum in Duncan).
