Evan,
The 123 is not an Andes class locomotive. The 123 is one of the modern Henschel 3 foot gauge mikados built for the Southern Railway of Peru. The Andes class were standard gauge 2-8-0s that were built in the 1930s through the 1950s by Beyer-Peacock. In all around 55 locomotives were built. If I understand correctly, the Andes class was initially built for the Central Railway, being based off a highly successful class of Rodgers 2-8-0s built around the turn of the 20th Century. The Rodgers were later upgraded with new boilers, piston valves (with Franklin Piston Valve kits I might add), and super heat. Anyway, they were so successful that the Southern Railway of Peru and Cerro de Paso bought some too.

(P.S.) If steamlocomotive.info ain't lying, there are three Andes class locomotives still surviving and one Rodgers.
