Yep, know all about those other things. Worked as a volunteer at a local Warbird museum. They employ full-time restoration people. The pilot once had an engine in a P-51 blow (Oil pump failure), and the guy was lucky to coast in to the airport, but with not much braking plowed into the fence at the end of the runway. Anyway the engine had a big hole in it, and is probably still on display there at the museum(I posted a photo of it several years ago). They knew of a place in Florida that has warehouses of old airplane parts, and the guy had several brand new engines so they bought one and its running today. Finding a part for a P-38 might be tougher though, eh!! Of course they had to rebuild a wing, that hit the fence.
