Thanks to a really great pilot out in CA, I got to experience his SNJ twice and he had me
doing rolls in it as well as standard rate and steep turns. A lot of airplane for the money.
Don't sell a Stearman short either, lot of fun with the open cockpit and ragged exhaust sound.
Best ride in a recip that I ever had was with my son in the late Danny Summers AE-1 Skyraider.
It was like riding in a big cam muscle car.
AirVenture at Oshkosh was great again this year. My wife & I got to see the F-82 Twin Mustang up
close as well as the rare USMC version of the B-25, the PBJ gunship. Lots of DC-3/C-47 examples
as well as a couple dozen Mustangs. I got to chat for awhile with a young kid who flew T-38s and
showed him how the canopy rigging had not changed since I'd worked on them at Edwards over
50 years ago. Great day and well worth the time for anybody.
