Nope not a Stearman. I saw one of those about 2 weeks ago flying with the Commemorative AF.
The diesel is only there to pull the train back to downtown Knoxville, since they don't turn the train. Thus 154 was doing all the work. The plane was to the left of the railroad and had just taken off from an airport near the Tennessee River. As you can see it was drowning out the sound of the steam train, but I heard the train in there as well, so decided scrapping the idea of shooting the Aircraft, but had I chosen that path, I probably could have shot it gaining elevation, then pan to the right and down to catch the 154. Anyway it was kinda cool. Another guy was shooting 4501 from Chattanooga to Summerville and back, while we left the chase at Rock Spring, and headed to Knoxville for the 2 pm train. This is the "River City Rambler". This engine is the oldest of the ex SR engines running having been built in 1890. We got one shot before this one, then started heading north to Cincinnati.
