In 1994, I was headed back to Vermont from Greeley after my mother died. I stopped at Bevier, Missouri to see if anything was left of the Bevier & Southern, that ran steam into the early 1960's. Track was gone, but the roundhouse still stood in very poor condition, along with some old drovers cabooses sitting grounded. I think some of the roundhouse machinery had gone to a railway museum (Mid-Continent?), but there were still a couple of pot-belly roundhouse stoves inside. I've read that BN later relaid some track over the old B&S roadbed to reach a coal mine, but never heard what happened to the roundhouse. Might be worth checking out. Even if the roundhouse is long gone, it's possible a local person saved the stoves. B&S 2-6-0 12 sits nearby in front of the post office, in desperate need of shelter and care when I saw it.
