Structurally, the car is finished. However, there remain a few " minor" items that must be done. The interior is finished with walnut and birds eye maple. All of it is varnished. However, the headliner still needs to be manufactured and installed. This has taken a lot of time because it has intricate design that must be painted on Irish linen. No easy task. Likewise, all the air brake piping must be tightened and tested. The triple valve and tank are installed, but it still will take a bit of work to do. I don't bend as easily as when I was younger. Also, I have been looking for an appropriate Speer heater of the oval design....as opposed to the cylindrical configuration.....and put that in the car. Anyone know of where one of these heaters may be available? Other than those items the car can roll down the railroad behind Eureka.
