Actually, the Geese stopped running in the winter of 1949. After the Rotary blew up there was no way to keep the line open in the winter, so the RR gave up and tired moving the mail by truck. The PO Dept. cancelled the mail contract and regular Goose service was cancelled. In 1950 and 1951, the ran the Geese in summertime excursion service only.
