Given how much of a tender is replaced when overhauls are done, I have to think it wouldn't be that hard for the shop forces in Durango to build 498 a tender from scratch. How many have gotten completely new cisterns? Underframes?

I would hope the remains of 498 are taken care of in case the opportunity to restore it to operation every arises.
