Yesterday I was looking at some footage from our 1994 Durango roundhouse tour. 499 was without a tender, then 498 had a tender as did 493. They were all lined up nicely. From the front you could see all the smokeboxes, and you would not know 499 had no tender. I got shots of the engine and tenders for 493 and 498. I saw both those engines in operation in 1968, so it was nice to see them again, even if dead!
