Ross the tender at the Royal Gorge behind the 499 is actually the 494's tender which 498 inherited after it was wrecked on Cumbres. Both 498 and 497's tenders were scrapped after that derailment. That is why 497 got the 490's tender and 498 sat idle until 494 was retired. A total of 3 K-37 tenders were scrapped that is why there are only 7 available tenders for the 8 that still exist. The 3 original tenders scrapped came from 491, 497, and 498. Can be confusing but it's clear as mud to me!
