482, 486, 489, 490,494, & 495 were officially retired and stricken from the roster in 1963.

487 ran out of flue time in the fall of 1967, 488's time ran out in early 1967 and did not run after 1966.

492 was set aside in at the end of 1966 with flue time remaining. Until the modern boiler inspection laws came into effect, every month an out of service report was filed with the FRA for 492. Technically, we could have filed for a flue extension, performed an annual inspection and run it.

As the Grande was only running these engines 6-8 months of the year, they could have applied for flue extensions, but apparently saw no need to do that.
