I'm wondering if at one time there was isolation valving for the previous pumphouse, did it use the same piping up the hill to
the Lava tank? As John and I have talked it would be difficult to pump (throughput on a pump) something large enough to clog
a 4" pipe and unlikely that you could collapse a piece of Sch 40 steel pipe (buried in the ground) with some external force. Tis
a mystery. I've suggested running a plumbing snake up the pipe to at least ascertain the position of the blockage, as John said
the amount of water expelled during the test was at best a few gallons suggesting that the blockage is less than 50 feet from
the pump house.
