20 degrees is correct for a max, most of the curves Poncha to Mears Jct were 12-14 degrees with one at 20. There were several 20 degree curves between Mears & Round Hill.
The route to Alamosa via Salida was also around 50 miles longer. (300.44 from Denver vs 251.71)
About 11 miles from Poncha Jct to Poncha Pass, mostly on 4 percent, and 3.26 miles of 3 percent from Poncha Pass to Round Hill.
