Well, thanks to not planning ahead
I am sure I passed by more than a few people from this board and the Friends I would have liked to met in person. Next time I come down, I'll have to send out a notice ahead of time...If it helps ring a bell, I was the one who brought my 6-months pregnant wife along for the ride. I made an
excellent choice for a spouse (She let me put two boxcars in our backyard afterall) and am proud that I now have the next generation of Houston's started and hopefully he inherits the train gene that seems to go in my family.
I'm just glad that there are so many dedicated individuals who have contributed over the years to restoring and maintaining the equipment. This now marks 20 years since I first visited the line, so in between enjoying watching the 315 and 463, I thought a lot about everything that has occurred with the C&TS since and while there will always be improvements to be had, I came away with a very good feeling seeing so many projects in process or completed (and that shed in Antonito will do wonders for avoiding re-restorations). I really need to get down there for a work session again, it's been way too many years.
