Regarding wheel work: *Clyde steps on soapbox*.
This has been a great example of the Friends and the RR working hand in hand.
The RR has identified wheels that really need to be replaced.
The Friends have purchased new wheels.
The RR is helping with the REALLY heavy work of pressing the shiny new wheels. This might be done in house, or outsourced.
The friends, with the help of the RR, will be installing newly pressed wheelsets.
This ain't gonna happen overnight, the RR has some "minor" things that have priority, like keeping steam locomotives running for daily passenger service.
That said, things are moving ahead on the wheel front!
As y'all know, I cannot post without including a shameless plug. If anybody wants to get to know archbar trucks really well, sign up for project 0780 session "E" or "F".
I am pretty sure that Bettendorf style trucks will be on the menu for Antonito, but don't have the project number at hand.
