I think that the first shot of the front truck with plow at the factory was given to me by W.George Cook who had been able to borrow some of the original negatives from Walter Casler's collection via his son in law Larry Isbell. The next 3 are from my collection though George gave me prints of the builders photos that are clearer than this one that I bought off of Ebay. The final shot is from the SVRR Archives Harr Collection.
The blade appear to be in the form of a flanger blade that would drop between the rails but I don't see what the mechanism would be to raise and lower. All of the SVRy engines with pilot flangers had an air cylinder.
