Not all is lost......

It may take a while for rebuilding the wall as the
Forest Service is operating today with budgets
from 20 years ago, thanks to endless cuts from
Congress, and has spent higher than expected
amounts for recent forest fires in Colorado that
divert money from other projects.

Nothing wrong with a short mountain bike ride
or hike to the west tunnel side as people do on
the east side. You can hike or mtn. bike over
the tunnel top for exploring both sides.

At least the modern rebuild with culvert remains
at the lower west side so driving thru the creek
isn't necessary like decades ago which stopped
most vehicles.
