The D&RGW folio sheet on the C-18's show the tractive effort of the C-18 class engines as 16,606 lbs. 315 retained its 18,324 lbs tractive effort rating after it recieved the new flue sheets, firebox and additional front sheet braces in 1924 that allowed it to retain the 160 psi boiler pressure. 315 has 152 flues vs 154 flues on the other locomotives in the class. The space for the two flues was used to brace the front tube sheet.
The folio sheet for the C-19 class engines shows a tractive effort of 18,947 lbs. with a 160 psi boiler pressure. The heating surface on the C-18 class engines is slightly more than the C-19 engines so the C-18 should be able to develop slightly more HP.
