1. For better or worse, the bickering posts seem to get the most hits - SOMEONE is obviously reading them.
2. There is nothing more disheartening than spending an hour or more writing up a long post crammed with information, photos, etc, and have NOBODY even say "thank you". All too often people only bother to reply when they disagree with something.
3. Even the best of friends don't get along 24/7/365, and its human nature to respond when you think you've been kicked. Its also human nature to growl about the things that bug you, whether they are truly important or not.
Your idea is quite correct in theory and easy to say, but sometimes rather hard to do in practice. Also, since the underlying problems don't ever seem to change (both sides want the other to go first), we keep going over the same old ground - kinda like trench warfare.
Whats also kind of interesting is the growlin ABOUT the fighting traditionally takes up almost as much valuable NG railroading space as the fight itself
