Greg,
Now that you mention it, that whistle reminds me of the N&W 1218. She had a logging sawmill whistle the time that I heard her. She was here in Kansas City in 1990 for an excursion trip, which Bobbi,my wife, and I rode on. That was really some locomotive. Sorry the Norfolk and Southern didn't see fit to continue their steam program.
