Nice catch Jim. where was this train going, Breyten or somewhere else?
When we were there in 84 it was the tag end of things.
In 1977, all the trains we saw with Garratts were coal bunker first on the Capetown to PE trains, and others.
Changing the subject Randy(my brother), decided to pony up $25.00 and join our museum's Doolittle Commemoration, which included a demonstration flight of "Axis Nightmare" our B-25J. As part of the event they had a drawing of two names for a future flight in the aircraft. Randy's name was the first one called. I burst out laughing cause I had this premonition he was going to win, and he knew nothing of it until they announced it. Pretty Funny. He shot video also, and was complaining how difficult it was doing aircraft video!!!!
Nothing like good steam, and WW2 aircraft. Might as well through in my long gone 65 Le Mans too!!!
