When the train rolled to a stop at Tiffany Store ,Punk was back in the 0540, greasing up his walnut-sized hemmoroids with a 5-gallon of Shell Spirax axle grease while his rear end brakeman walked up to the front with the clipboard and an invoice for the store owner to sign off on while the front-end brakeman manhandled the LCL freight . After that ,Punk would settle carefully at the desk and fill out the delay report ,accounting for this and each stop . Remember ,LCL was handled by the passenger trains till the late 1930s . The D&RGW , like all other major railroads , eventually tired of this penny-ante business and encouraged many shippers to ship LCL on their trucking line .
