I got the chance to look around inside that reefer at the Sundown auction, before it went to Oregon.
I specifically remember looking at the markings that were made with a yellow ink or paint. There seemed to be areas within the car for setting freight to more than one destination. There was one area marked "Villa Grove", and I wish I remembered the rest, but they were probably on the Valley Line.
There were also names and dates of what were probably the car loaders. The interior wood finish still had a good shine to it. Maybe the good folks at Sumpter Valley would consider keeping these heiroglyphics as a link to the past.
