Wow! Interesting and sad.
Years ago when i was in boyscouts, I went to the Scout Ranch at Philmont NM. On their land, not far from base camp at a ridge line is a crash site that the Ranger told of a twin engine B24 crash from a training exercise.
As there is no such plane, I felt I would set the record straight when my group hiked the area on our trek. Looking at the pieces and based on my knownedge of both plane types (I was blessed with a father who was not only active in the warbird sene but brought his sons along) I thought it to be a B25. However i did not find definitive proof and who would believe a sixteen year old, so they still refere to it as a twin B24.
