There's no need to do anything drastic, fellahs - see below!

Hollywood often arranges for city streets - and even highways - to be closed off temporarily for filming of movies (think Dirty Harry) and even commercials. I remember waiting for 35 to 45 minutes at the top of Oak Creek Canyon, north of Sedona, Arizona, while a Corvette commercial was being filmed. The biggest complication for the C&TS is coordinating the closure of Hiway 17 with two (2, count 'em, 2) different states. (Whether this arrangement should include a special exemption to allow foamers driving alone to steer with their knees while using both hands to film the action is open to debate.)

As to funding, JBWX and others have suggested setting up a 'PlanDampf' for similar situations, as has been done successfully in Europe
: Set a deadline for contributions, and if enough support money is sent in then the trip runs; if there aren't enough contributions by a month or six weeks ahead, it doesn't run.
