Wengen does have internal combustion vehicles. All are brought in by rail. They range from really interesting "flat beds", look like RR freight cart with steering wheel, lots of small sedans of various makes to small cargo trucks. In the winter they are all chained on the driving wheels.
The larger hotels have small cars that move people and luggage from the rail station to the hotels and lodges. All very well organized.
They have containers for material and food, etc. that are delivered usually at night to the lower level of the rr station. Garbage etc. is removed from this same area. Once again very well organized!
The rail line is a rack system and needs to be with the 7% grade. Absolutely breath taking!
