OK, it took me a while to dig out the info, but the 3 Mikes mentioned are the same three I mentioned above. Info I obtained from the VRR shows copies of the original ALCO specs and these specs list the customer as the Oregon Lumber Company. Weight checks in at 178K, which is 89 tons (if my math without a calculator is still good!) They were originally built to burn oil. Road numbers are listed as 100-102 and labels were to be Portland, Astoria and Pacific. None of these locos ever saw service on the PA&P and were eventually sold. Number 101 was sold to the Minarets and Western RR for similar logging duty and was given to the Southern Pacific RR as debt payment. So Pac gave it to a broker who sold it to the Aberdeen and Rockfish RR who re-numbered it to No. 40. It hauled freight and passengers until retired in 1950. As a favorite steam engine on the R&A, it had some dedicated employees looking over it who managed to keep it indoors and in decent condition until its sale to the Valley RR in 1977.
It is standard gauge.
