Ahhhh ... a FEEDER line ... that explains it!!!!
For some reason I had the impression that the Cerro De Pasco line was standard gauged. Then after your response I rechecked the Haine/Pruett book. I was clearly mistaken! It was the closure of the FEEDER lines (apparently there were 5) that rendered the n.g. locos redundant!
FYI - Since you don't have your books with you and since you're more likely to get there in the near future, than I am ... Haines states that early in the 20th century the n.g. branches were located at:
1) Ricran (8 miles south of Cerro de Pasco) running 12 miles west to Casa Laguna
2) Shelby (10 miles south of Cerro de Pasco) running 16 miles SW to Huaron
3) From Cerro de Pasco running NW 20 miles to Goyllarisqisga
4) Tambo del Sol (25 miles southest of Cerro de Pasco) running NE 19 miles to Chirihuain
5) Paccha (5 miles NW of Oroya) running 6 miles to Malpaso
Thanks for clearing that up for me.
Best Regards,
Glenn
