Dale, do you know what happened to the yellow Baldwin 2-8-2 that used to be on the Huancayo-Huancavelica? I do not remember the number, but it was active in the 70s along with at least one of the 2-6-0s. On my first trip there in 1973 with Jack Neville, Jack jumped off the moving train on an upgrade, ran ahead to get a picture of the laboring Mike, then calmly climbed back on the coach as it went by at a walking pace. The H-H is indeed a spectacular line with deep gorges and dozens of tunnels; if it were in the US it would be a major tourist attraction.
