The old-timer running the 483 did not look like No. 2 maqn Frank Frantz or No. 3 man Frank Veo from pictures I have seen of them. That is not to say it wasn't one of them.
I have not seen any pictures of senior engineer Charles D. Wilson so it may have been him. He would have been 65-years-old when the run was made.
The younger man on the 489 doesn't look like Frantz or Veo either.
The line was already abandoned when the trip was made. IIRC that could have affected the seniority agreement.
Other factors would be if the Monarch train was running that day and if a narrow gauge crew was working the barrel transfer.
