Dale, we went half way to Chillicothe to that big bridge around Greenville, Ohio and waited a long time. We learned it was delayed for several hours and gave up. It had a diesel on the point I understand, so no big loss.
The next day it headed to Chattanooga I think. I was with a high school buddy and we had tickets for the first game of the 1970 World Series with Cincinnati Reds, and the Baltimore Orioles. So, we chased 4501 from Ludlow to abou Williamstown or Sadieville, then had to retreat to Riverfront stadium for the Game. Reds lost on contraversial play at the plate, but I won with some good steam in the morning. Am hopeful 4501 will be in black next month. Sure would like to see a short passenger train like this one though!!!
