I remember the 487 steamed pretty well and I kept it right at the pops for most of the trip. The only problem was the injector began to fine down as we neared the top of the pass. That's where Earl had to open his (and I lost 25 lbs of pressure). This wasn't the most demanding job for me (a John West 12 hour charter to Big Horn and back on the 497 takes that spot), but for interest it was one of the top trips and one of the few I brought my video cam with me. One more side note: Aug. 9, 1997 was the date of my 20th Anniversary High School Reunion back in CA. I had thought about taking a couple of days off to fly back to that. 17 years later I am still glad I missed my Reunion...
