Good question and I agree. Maybe "rare" is in the eyes of the beholder? According to MARC 9600 or so Model A two-door phaetons were manufactured in 1930-31, out of a total production of 5 million cars, or somewhere around .2% of production. So, obviously they were relatively rare even when made. Relative being relative, of course, but certainly not "rare" in terms of a Stutz or Packard dual-cowl phaton. How many remain alive now?
