Here's what an October 8, 2012 article in the Durango Herald had to say about it:

The Goblin Fire in the Animas Canyon in the San Juan National Forest north of Durango was going nowhere Monday. The fire grew only 2 acres overnight to 42 acres.

An ember from a Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad locomotive is suspected in starting the fire.
