Clas 35 were the early D&RG 2-6-0's built 1871-73 (2,3,5,6,8-12) none of which the RGS ever purchased (it did have 1 Class 40 engine, #11 nee D&RG #29, sold in '99)
The engine in question was a Class 56 2-8-0 D&RG #80, to D&RGW (later RGW) #80 '86, to RGS #35 in '01 to Calumet Coal Co. #1 1901.
ISTR that RGS had never used her as #35, that she was at Burnham being overhauled when the Silver Panic happened. RGS got her back with the lease of the Calumet branch(Perins peak BR) in 1906. She was set aside in about 1913 but not scrapped until the late 1920's, IIRC there was some question as to the title so she sat at Ridgway and rusted...
